Someone Is Fighting for Your Attention Every Minute
Advertisers, politicians, platforms, influencers and scammers all compete for the same scarce resource: your attention
Evidence: E4 documented enforcement record + media-literacy synthesis
What is worth carrying forward
- Persuasion is more powerful when targeting is personalized with behavioral data.
- An undefined 'they' is not evidence; identify the actor, data source, message and intended behavior.
- The goal is not universal distrust but earned trust.
Your Attention Has Buyers
Before breakfast, multiple systems may already be competing for your next click. Some want you to buy. Some want you to believe. Some want you to stay on the platform. Some want you to share. No secret council is required for this to be powerful; ordinary commercial and political incentives are enough to create an industrial competition for attention.
A Documented Case
The U.S. Federal Trade Commission documented deceptive data practices involving Cambridge Analytica and Facebook user information used for voter profiling and targeting. That case does not prove that every political message is manipulation. It proves that data-driven persuasion can become extremely personal and that the mechanism can be investigated with records rather than speculation.
Six Questions Before You Share
Who created this? What do they want me to feel? What do they want me to do? What evidence would prove the claim wrong? Can I find the original source? What important context is missing? A person who believes everything is easy to manipulate. A person who believes nothing can be manipulated too. The stronger goal is earned trust.

GH-KU-0004policySignal is not fact
Citizen, sensor, media or institutional inputs enter as signals and require provenance, corroboration, confidence and contradiction checks before factual publication.

Digital targeting can use personal data for behavioral or political persuasion. Investigations should document specific actors, data practices and mechanisms rather than invoking an undefined hidden controller.
